The College has Constituted the Anti Ragging Committee in The year 2012-13. The following instructions are framed to prevent the menace of ragging and foster healthy interpersonal relations among students in the campus of RMG College, Nagbhid. Ragging is strictly forbidden in or outside the college campus. All students shall familiarize themselves with rules/regulations/guidelines on code of conduct, anti-ragging measures and discipline College. All ‘new comers’ should attend counseling sessions organized for them from time to time by the college staff.
Objectives

  1. To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
  2. To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  3. To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.

Functions of Committee

  • To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Anti- Ragging Committee along with punishment recommended for the offenders;
  • Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions;
  • Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students;
  • To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress calls;
  • To create awareness among the students about Anti ragging.
  • To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging inside the Campus.

Grievance Redressal Committee

As per the rules and regulations addressed by the UGC, for student or other stake holders in a Institution, It has created a mechanism for redressal of students' grievances related to academic and non-academic matters, such as assessment, victimization, attendance, charging of fees, conducting of examinations, harassment by colleague students or teachers etc. There are Grievance Redressal Committees at the College levels to deal with the grievances of the students.

Objectives

  • To formulate the policy to investigate and review complaints or grievances of students and faculties.
  • To create awareness of availability of members for students and faculties to report grievances.
  • To investigate the cause of grievances.
  • To ensure effectual solution depending upon the gravity of the Grievence.

Rules

  • The committee will deals with all genuine grievances of learners of the college.
  • All complainants should file their grievances either by writing in paper to the committee or by online on the website of the college.
  • The committee will meet at least once in a month to resolve the grievances.
  • The student shall bring up his grievances in the prescribed format immediately to the grievance cell without fail.
  • The number of grievance settled or pending will be report to the Principal in every month.
  • A box marked ‘Grievance Box’ is placed on the ground floor. Any student may put in their case/concern with name, date and class in the grievance box. Confidentiality and privacy is maintained.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In pursuance of UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015 read with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 , Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted as under to deal with the complaints relating to Sexual harassment at work place.

Code of conduct for work place

Sexual harassment is a serious criminal offence, which can destroy human dignity and freedom. In an effort to promote the well being of all women employees at the work place the following code of conduct has been prescribed:-

  • It shall be the duty of the employer to prevent or deter the commission of any act of sexual harassment at the work place.
  • Sexual harassment will include such unwelcome sexually determined behavior by any person either individually or in association with other persons or by any person in authority whether directly or by implication such as:
  1. Eve-teasing
  2. Unsavory remark
  3. Jokes causing or likely to cause awkwardness or embarrassment
  4. Innuendos and taunts
  5. Gender based insults or sexiest remark
  6. Unwelcome sexual overtone in any manner such as over telephone (obnoxious telephone calls) and the like
  7. Touching or brushing against any part of the body and the like
  8. Displaying pornographic or other offensive or derogatory pictures, cartoons, pamphlets or sayings.
  9. Forcible physical touch or molestation.
  10. Physical confinement against one’s will and any other act likely to violate one’s privacy.

 

The mechanism for redressal of complaints and further Procedure to be followed for conducting enquiry by the Complaints Committee is as follows:

  1. On receipt of a complaint ICC shall conduct preliminary enquiry so as to ascertain the truth of the allegations by collecting the documentary evidence as well as recording statements of any possible witnesses including the complainant. ICC shall then submit the preliminary enquiry report to Director/Disciplinary Authority along with all the original documents adduced during the preliminary enquiry proceedings. In case the allegations are not in the nature of sexual harassment, ICC may refer such complaints to the Grievance Redressal cell or to Registrar.
  2. Where sexual harassment occurs as a result of an act or omission by any third party or outsider, ICC shall take all steps necessary and reasonable to assist the affected person in terms of support and preventive action
  3. ICC shall comply with the procedure prescribed in the aforementioned UGC Regulations 2015 and the Sexual Harassment Act for inquiring into the complaint in a time bound manner.
  4. If ICC concludes that the allegations made were false, malicious or the complaint was made knowing it to be untrue or forged or misleading information has been provided during the inquiry, the complainant shall be liable to be punished as per the relevant provision of the aforementioned UGC Regulations 2015.
  5. Member Secretary/Chairperson, ICC shall receive the complaints of sexual harassment, if any, on behalf of ICC and shall co-ordinate the deliberations of the ICC on the complaints received
